একুশের চেতনা নিয়ে মিথ্যাচার - ডাকটিকিট সমাচার

এই ঘটনা যে কেবল আমার চোখে পড়েছে তাই না। এটা নিয়ে সাদাকালোর ব্লগের পোস্ট।

পোস্টে একটা কথা বেশ ভালো লাগলো, ব্লগার বলেছেন, জিতু ওসমানী যদি এই ভন্ডামীটা না করে বলতেন, একুশের চেতনাকে ধরে রাখার জন্য এই ফটো স্ট্যাম্পগুলো তিনি নিজেই বানিয়েছেন, বাংলাদেশীরা সবাই কিনুন, তাহলে প্রবাসীরা সবাই দেশের প্রতি ভালোবাসার টানেই অনেক গুলো স্ট্যাম্প কিনতো। কিন্তু সস্তা নাম কেনা, পত্রিকার সাংবাদিকদের বোকাবানিয়ে প্রথম পাতায় নাম ছাপানো -- এসবের লোভে পড়ে একুশের চেতনাকে ভুলুণ্ঠিত করা -- এধরণের ধান্ধার জন্যই জিতু ওসমানীর কাজটা জঘন্য হয়েছে।

অনলাইনে ধাপ্পাবাজি, লোক ঠকিয়ে নাম কেনা, এসবের খবর শুনলেই প্রথমে কেন যেন এক জ্যামিতিক পশুরামের কথা মনে পড়ে।

যাই হোক, এই জিতু রামছাগলের জন্য একটা শক্ত মুগুরের ছবির স্ট্যাম্প বানাতে দেয়া দরকার।

লোভ যে মানুষকে কতটা অন্ধ করে দেয় এটা তার একটা উদাহরণ। সবাইকে যে এত সহজে বোকা বানানো যাবে না উনি মনে হয় বুঝতে পারেননি। কিন্তু যে পত্রিকায় ওটা ছেপেছে সেখানে কি কোন কৌতূহলি মাথা ছিলনা? নাকি পত্রিকায় গরম খবর দেয়ার লোভে সেখানেও একই ব্যাপার ঘটেছে?

- ধরে রাম ধোলাই দেন রাগিব ভাই। হিমুর মতো স্ট্যাম্পাল মুগুরের ধোলাই না, সত্যিকারের রাম-লক্ষণ-ভরত সব ধোলাই দেন। এমনে সম্ভব না হলে বাসায় দাওয়াত করে তারপর।

আমি তো সবার আগে রাগিবকে ধন্যবাদ জানাবো। এরকম একটা গোয়েন্দা প্রতিবেদনের জন্য।
মিডিয়ার বিবেকে (বলতে মিডিয়ায় যুক্ত ব্যক্তি বিশেষদের বুঝাচ্ছি) যদি ঘুণে ধরে তাহলে মুশকিল বৈকি। একটা বিহিত করাটা খুবই দরকার।

গতকাল আরেক ব্লগে দেখি এক ব্লগার লিখেছেন, "আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস উপলক্ষ্যে আমেরিকার স্মারক ডাকটিকেট প্রকাশ"। এ শিরোনাম দেখেই আমি গুগল নিউজে সার্চ দেই ঘটনা সত্য কিনা জানার জন্য। একটা লিংক ও পাইনি। তখনি সন্দেহ জাগে। রাগিব ভাইয়ের মতো আমিও মার্কিন ডাকবিভাগের সাইটে গিয়ে আবিষ্কার করি এমন কোনো ডাকটিকেটের উল্লেখ নেই। অত্যধিক ধীর ইন্টারনেট কানেকশনের জন্য আরো গবেষণা করতে বিফল হই। আজ রাগীব ভাইয়ের এ পোস্ট পড়ে বুঝলাম মাজেজা কি! রাগীব ভাইকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ ভাষা আন্দোলনকে তামাশা বানিয়ে নাম কেনা ভন্ডটার মুখোশ খুলে দেবার জন্য।

টেকনিকালি, আমি আপনি যেকোনো ছবি দিলেই সেটা জ্যাজল বা স্ট্যাম্পস ডট কম ছাপবেনা, কারণ সে ক্ষেত্রে অনেকে অশ্লীল ছবি বা কথা দিয়ে ফেলতে পারেও। এজন্য ছবি আপলোডের পরে তা প্রিন্ট হওয়ার আগে অনুমোদিত হতে হয়। এই ক্ষেত্রেও তাই হয়েছে।

যাহোক, অন্তত একটা পত্রিকাতে কিছুটা হলেও ঠিক কথা এসেছে বলে রক্ষা।

Zazzle.com/osmani an approved licensed vendor United Postal Service (USPS) under customized PC postal service. I was trying to write in Bangla but failed, please accept my apology.

Few days ago a gentleman call from UK and informed me about this web site. Let me congratulate the creaters of the site and I liked it very much.

Lets get to the point. I’ve found out your website to respond and my apology to all of you not to participate earlier to your forum as because I didn’t know your website until today as I said someone called me from UK about your web sitefew days before.

With due respect all of the negative comments against me and please allow me to get to the bottom of the story at least if we all of us to get a sense out of the whole concept. Although I haven’t get the chance to clarify the actual facts not fabricated which I’m really shocked what I have experienced after visiting your forum. Everyone have the rights whatever someone feels like to write. I’ll take it as personal opinion not necessarily to agree. I’m really shocked how could a sensible person compare and portrait an example side by side dog stamps and ‘Ekushey’ stamp. No respect at all….very sad. I liked the caption of: HOW TO RUIN THE IDEA? But the question is who is doing it? I hope I would be able to answer all unanswered questions and leave it to you to the reader to justify my role to bring the ‘Ekushey’ stamp in USA:

Let me first clear myself: The truth is: I have never ever mentioned whatsoever that “INETRNATIONAL LANGUAGE DAY' STAMP HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITIZEN STAMP ADVISORY COMITTEE. It wasn’t not my versions at all and I have no clue that is spreading these words to kill the idea before it born. At the press conference in Los Angeles I've clearly mentioned that it can be made by anyone and PC Postage is licensed vendor under USPS. What I’ve said at the press conference: “Dear reporters, I’m glad to announce today our dream the “International Mother Language Day’ 41 cents US postage stamps is finally here and available to all of us for USPS regular first class mail only online through www.zazzle.com/osmani. For our postal needs. This is our first temporary steps and we have to go long way to have a permanent place at the USPS local post office.

If I said the new stamp is approved by Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee at the conference than why I handed over a copy of application to the press reporters even the letter is not submitted to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee? For your information’s United States Postal Services (USPS) & Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee are both under the same umbrella of USPS. The USPS receives some 60,000 suggestions a year for commemorative stamps, and every one is considered by the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC, pronounced "C-sack"). The group of 13 people from various walks of life (actor Karl Malden and TV basketball analyst Digger Phelps are among the members) meets four times a year to review potential stamps and pass them along to the Postmaster General. "CSAC must consider three distinct audiences in making its selections - the serious collector, kids, and the American consumer. I didn’t say that you can buy the stamps from the local post office because I clearly mentioned PC postage stamp needed to purchase only from online. The mailing services are the same ‘first class mail’ regardless if it is approved by the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee or USPS. What make the difference between who is approving and who is not? The main purpose is it legal postage stamp and can it be delivered in first class mail?
2. Can I use this stamp for local and International mailing purpose?
Answer is: YES. It all comes from USPS approval and still get the same services like regular post mail and no difference between PC postage stamps and regular stamp purchase from the local post office. This is the first time in the history in USA ever print ‘Saheed Minar’s pictures on US postage stamp and that’s the fact. Why my learned friends wants to make a big deal about saying Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee vs. USPS (although I didn’t mention the stamp has been issued by the citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee and it’s a flat lie?) Those words are coming out of I think from personal jealousy “Why didn’t I think about that before”?
As I said before Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee and United States Postal Services (USPS) are same and both are under the same umbrella of USPS. The confusions are coming from the difference between Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee vs. United States Postal Services (USPS). Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee approves local stamps and USPS approves PC Postage stamps are both stamps has the same value, status and can be used for domestic and International mailing purposes. There is no difference between the two stamps value. PC postage can only purchased through online approved USPS licensed vendors and www.zazzle.com/osmani is one of them. I’ve just taken ‘Dazzle’ company as a vehicle to release the stamp number of reasons:
Do I have any other choices than PC postage to release the ‘Ekushy’ Stamps?
First I don’t want to miss the date of 1st February, 2008 to release the stamps through ‘zazzle.com. Without PC postage USPS approved like www.zazzle.com won’t be possible to release the stamps overnight online. We all know, zazzle.com is a business web site and have the authority to issue PC postage stamps overnight under the guideline of USPS. 1 Doing nothing. Wait for at least over couple years of processing time as per the USPS normal processing time. Until getting approval from Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee International Mother Language Day’ US postage stamps is not permitted to with Sahid Minar Picture and can’t be available for postage in USA?
But PC postage allows issuing overnight postage stamps in the market while the process for issuing the stamps from the local post to Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee is on for approval.
3. Mass mailing Local News paper advertisement, concerts etc. in order to do the campaign and tell stories to other nationalities about how important it is to all Bangladeshi’s including other nationals in USA with the dream design of “Ekushey Stamp”. Write letters to Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee to issue the stamp along with 1 million signatures. But no stamps can be released until get the approval. But PC postage allows issuing overnight postage stamps.
4. Apply the INETRNATIONAL LANGUAGE DAY for the ‘International Language Day' stamp and comply with their requirements and wait for couple of years for possible approval to release the stamps. But PC postage allows issuing overnight postage stamps...
The idea of release the stamp through Zazzle Company will bring three things:
1. One “International Language Day” stamps can count as ‘ONE VOTE’ in favor of "International Language Day' stamps for the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee board to be considered at the decision making process.
2. An awareness about the importance of what is "International Language Day' especially for the American and other nationalities in USA.
3. Took the first step to one step closer for the Stamp Advisory Committee to approve the stamp in next year 2009 if we reach at least 1 million votes by purchasing the stamps to carry from the local post office.

If someone says zazzle.com making money and we’ll rather wait the lengthy process I have no comments. Furthermore, if anyone comes up with an other idea without the help of PC postage stamp technology system by USPS, please let us know.

People have used PC postage as fun, marketing, promotional but I’ve taken it as an international prospective. To me PC postage stamp is a powerful tool and symbol as a ‘vote’ accepted by the USPS and Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee for future INTRNATIONAL LANGUAGE DAY stamps to release future stamps carried out by the USPS for the local post offices. Because any stamps purchased on PC postage will go to the data base and stored digitally how many numbers of people have purchased those particular stamps? In this case no signature drive, fund raising in not necessary.

Why did I select PC postage platform as a vehicle to release International Mother Language Day stamps?
My main goal is to take the initiative to release the stamp in February 2008 without any fail which will take one step ahead to start the process. Each stamp considered to be as a single vote in favor of shamed Minar’s pictures stamps. It’s like doing SMS for the particular stamp. I thought February month will be the perfect month for this cause and we can campaign the entire February month to use stamps for mailing. Especially to the American friends, companies, corporation and other nationalities which will spread out the words about ‘Ekushy February for the new generation. The advantages of PC postages are:
1. Immediate release of customized PC postage stamp
2. No long waiting time and also no need for complex processing time to release the stamps,
3. Each stamp can be considered to be a single vote to submit to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee for future INTRNATIONAL LANGUAGE DAY stamps.
4. As because it is approved by USPS and digitally stored votes are from the zazzle.com/osmani are acceptable.
5. Can buy from home online.
6. When we use one PC postage stamps it can be use for personal postage needs and the same time it counts as votes.
It is not fair to blame someone without knowing the truth. I think some of our friends draw the conclusions and rushed to the judgments without finding out the other side of the coin story. Have them proved while the press conference was video taped.
Those are few peoples involved to destroy this idea but they’ll not succeed and the truth will come out anyway. Unfortunately, it is shame that few people from Los Angeles writing letters to all newspapers, web sites with wrong, untrue and full of lie stories to my contacts wanted to mislead and trying to destroy it. Bur due to complex of the process such as over several years waiting period, million signatures required to submit to the US stamp advisory committee etc. eventually I couldn't follow up.

For your information, The PC technology product was created 1999 by USPS and no one knows until January 2008 revealed at the press conference by me about Ekushey stamps. It was overlooked or unexplored over many years from all of us otherwise we could have done long time ago to release the 'Ekushey stamps My idea was PC postage technology allows to bring the Ekushey stamps immediately without any waiting or long delays and still can be able to keep the Ekushey spirit to release the stamp immediately like in the 1st month of February which is the perfect timing for the right time.

Guess what? The American Muslim took it as challenge and purchased over 7 million in USA. We still have the EID stamp alive in the local post office.

What the particular group of people want: We don't need our mother language stamp with Saheed Minar as because Zazzle.com is making money, 7% commissions etc. Yes the company will make money and the systems put in place with the USPS guideline for allowing us to customize the stamps and we pay extra. We buy sometimes 41 cents stamps from local grocery stores more than the face value and why we don't complain for that? I'm concerned, if this dirty game continues may be the US postal department will drop the idea not to get involved at all to approve And we don't want to let it happen. We've lot of other sensible people out there will understand the facts.

I know the truth will come out and lot of people first time confused and later found out the behind the conspiracy. To me I realized a personal jealousy made them angry why we couldn't think about that? A few group of people from LA press conference one of them opposed and didn't appreciated. The question came it as anyone could do it anytime and the truth is was anyone releases the stamps before February January 31, 2008.

This is the beginning of our journey, if we want to see the stamps in our local post office we have to saleat least 1 million stamps which means 1 million votes in favor of the stamps. There are some requirements by the United States Postal Services (USPS) and "Citizen Stamp Advisory Committee" the we have to fulfill.

Perhaps you have seen EID postal in the local post office. That stamp had also gone through the process which I have mentioned earlier. Behind the story of EID stamps as I can recall: EID stamp was inaugurated 1st September 2002 at ISNA conference in Chicago: USPS said, if I million stamp sold EID postage USPS will carry every year. Guess what? The American Muslims took it as challenge and purchased over 7 million stamps in USA. We still have the EID stamp alive in the local post office. We have to go through the same path and needed support from all nationals.

US Postmaster General Mr. Alexander Laserof said, there is PC postage available through our approved vendors for this stamp and it will be considered at the decision making process how many people have used and wanted to see the stamp as ' International Mother Language Stamp (February 3rd, 2008, Ittefaq).

The idea of releasing the stamp through www.zazzle.com/osmani will bring us three things:
1. One “International Language Day” stamps could count as ‘ONE VOTE’ in favor of "International Language Day' stamps for the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee board to be considered at the decision making process.
2. An awareness about the importance of what is "International Language Day' especially for the American and other nationalities in USA. Less than 1% don't know what is International Mother Language Day.
3. Took the first step to one step closer for the 'Citizen Advisory Committee' to approve the stamp in next year 2009 if we can reach at least 1 million votes by purchasing the stamps to approve the stamps for local post office.

Zazzle.com is a business web site approved by USPS and the only authority to release customized PC postage through some selective companies. We have taken Zazzle Company as a vehicle to sell the stamps legally and each stamps could considered as one single vote in favor of the stamps. It’s like having million signature drives to support the stamps.

I thought the month of February will be the perfect month to release the 'Ekushey' stamps. On January 31st, 2008 the official announcement was made in Los Angeles. Please tell your friends and family to use the 'International Language Day ' stamps as their day to day postal needs. It is true we're paying extra to purchase the stamps from zazzle. But we don't have any other choices to release the 'Ekushy' stamps overnight other than USPS approved PC postage vendors. Sometimes we buy 41 cents stamps from the local grocery stores more than the face value of the stamps. Do we complain ? Once we get the approval for the stamps from 'Citizen Advisory Committee' than we may not need anymore PC postage.

However, Rokeya Apa (VOA) called me, from UK someone gentleman also called me and asked questions what's going on? What we're hearing and people are talking about the stamp is false, anyone can do it etc. Who denied it anyone can't do it. People use it for fun, personal use and I came up with the idea to use as an internationally acceptable issues and above all backdrop of Central SaheedMinar in Dhaka placed on US postage stamp? Isn't that nice? We all should be proudof that to introduce the stamp. This stamp will give us an opportunity to tell story to the american people and all nationalities living in USA to understand about our glorious 1952 Languge movement, Probhat Feri , Saheed Minar etc. People will know more about Bangladesh and the only country in world sacrifice their life to establish mother tounge will be the national language.

I have triedmyself personally to clarify the confusions as much as I can. Later they all figure it out and most important truth is always more powerful than anything else.

To my knowledge no one bring out 'International Mother Language Day' ever released in the 1st day of February 2008 in USA with my concept. PC postage technology was first introduced in 1999 by USPS almost 9 years ago. We have crossed 9 times ‘Ekushey February’ why no one has come up with this idea before including me until today? We’re only talking about money making matters etc. but can anyone please give us a solutions to instant release of ‘International Language Day’ postal stamp in USA? Do we have any choices other than PC postage system to release the stamp and use the stamp instantly? Please let us everybody know so that we all can help and support you.

As because I didn't get involved to any group or individuals which might make them angry. I know this will not end here and I have to face lot of surprises. I hope those who knows me personally last 20 years or more and believing on me will be my strength to defend from any conspiracy. I came in USA with a dream back in 1984. As a broadcaster I was dreaming to have a radio program in USA and opened first bangla radio program in USA back in1984 'Voice of Bangladesh, Los Angeles. People also that time talked about the money things and tried to talk about negetive things. But we are able to keep our Bangla culture every monthin USA throughour weekly Bangla Radio Program.

Dear readers, lets move on and work together side by side to reach our common goal to find a permanent place for "International Mother Language Day' at the USPS.

যাহোক, পত্রপত্রিকাতে যা প্রকাশ হয়েছে, সব ঐ প্রেস কনফারেন্সের বরাতেই বলা হয়েছে। ইত্তেফাক, সমকাল, আমাদের সময় - এই সব পত্রিকাতে কেনো বার বার করে জ্যাজল ডট কম থেকে "মার্কিন পোস্ট অফিসের প্রকাশিত" ডাকটিকিট কিনতে বলা হয়েছে, তার ব্যাখ্যা কি দয়া করে দেয়া হবে আমাদের? এতো বিশাল রচনা না লিখে সংক্ষেপে আমাদের এইটা পরিস্কার করে জানানো হলে বাধিত হবো।

পরিচিতির সুবাদে ভয়েস অফ আমেরিকার সাংবাদিক রোকেয়া হায়দারকেও ঘোল খাইয়েছেন। খেয়াল করে দেখুন ওসমানী সাহেবের মিথ্যাচার ... উনার বিশাল চাপাবাজি-রচনাতে উনি কিন্তু দাবি করেছেন, "মার্কিন পোস্ট অফিসের প্রকাশিত" এটা নাকি উনি বলেননি। অথচ ভয়েস অফ আমেরিকার রিপোর্টারদেরকে বলার সময় দিব্যি ডাহা মিথ্যা দাবিটা করলেন।

এইসব মিথ্যাবাদী ভন্ডকে দেখলেও ঘৃণা হয়। টাকার লোভে, নাম কেনার লোভে শহীদ মিনারকেও বেচে দিলো।

এইসব ধান্দাবাজ নিয়ে আক্ষেপ করে সময় নস্ট, ১৪ কোটি মানবের দেশে কিছু নিচু প্রজাতি থাকবেই। আবার এটাও মনে রাখতে হবে বাংলাদেশের পত্র-পত্রিকা অনেক ভোদাই রিপোর্টার নিয়ে কাজ করে। এদের বলবেন একটা আর এরা লিখবে একটা। এসব নিয়ে চিন্তিত না, অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তি হলে এসবের কিছুটা লাঘব হবে। আমি অন্য কোনায় চিন্তা করছি। আমারিকায় কেউ যদি বিশ্ব মাতৃভাষা নিয়ে টিকিট বিক্রি করে এটা পত্র-পত্রিকার এত লাফালাফির কি হলো? ২১শে ফেব্রুয়ারি তো এখন আর আমাদের একার দিবস না, সারা বিশ্বের দিবস। যদিও বাংলাদেশ এবং বাংলাদেশীদের জন্য এটা অনেক ভিন্ন মাত্রায় দেখা হয় কিন্তু পৃথিবীর কে কোথায় স্টাম্প ছাপাল, এ নিয়ে এতো আবেগ না দেখালে কি নয়?

আমেরিকায় ছাপা হয়েছে, বড় নিউজ না হয়েই যায় না। আর নিউজ হয় কারন আমাদের মত 'সেন্সিটিভ' বাংলাদেশীরা এইসব নিউজ গিলতে পছন্দ করি। একইভাবে দেখা যায়, ওয়েস্টার্ন কুটনীতিক আর কিছু অখ্যাত লোকজন দেশে গিয়ে মিডিয়াতে বাংলাদেশের 'পরিস্থিতি' নিয়ে কথা বলে আর সেটা সমস্ত মিডিয়াতে আসে প্রধান খবর হয়ে। আমাদের কোলনীয়াল মানসিকতা যাবে কবে?

সেদিন ওয়ালগ্রীনে দেখলাম ওরাও এখন যে কোন ছবি দিয়ে এই ফটোস্ট্যাম্প ছাপায়- ২০ টা স্ট্যাম্পের এক সেট ২০ ডলার। শোকেসে কুত্তা, বিলাই এবং আরো নানা কিসিমের ছবি দিয়ে তৈরী হরেক রকমের স্ট্যাম্প শোভা পাচ্ছে। ভাবছি, জাতীয় স্মৃতি সৌধের ছবি দিয়ে স্ট্যাম্প ছাপিয়ে জিতু সাহেবের মত সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে দেশের বিভিন্ন পত্রিকায় প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি পাঠায়ে দিব নাকি - যে আমার উদ্যোগে মার্কিন ডাক বিভাগ বাংলাদেশের বিজয় দিবস উপলক্ষে ডাকটিকেট প্রকাশ করেছে । বাংলাদেশের সাংবাদিকগুলার মত এমন আবুল আর চাটুকার কি আর কোন দেশে আছে! তবে আছে বলেই জিতু মিয়ার মত জোচচরেরা কিছু করে খেতে পারছে। কোন পত্রিকায় একটা সংশোধনী আসে নি পর্যন্ত!

কার ছবি জানি মাইরা টিকিট দিসে আল্লায় জানে

সম্প্রতি ফেইসবুকে এই লোকের আরেকটা স্ট্যাম্প সবাই শেয়ার করছে দেখছি। যথারীতি ভাষা আন্দোলনের আবেগে আপ্লুত হয়ে সবাই এই স্ট্যাম্প কেনার অঙ্গীকার করছেন (দিব্যচোখে দেখতে পাচ্ছি, এই লোক আবারও পত্রিকায় কাভারেজ পাবে, একুশ শতকের ভাষা সৈনিক হিসাবে যে কিনা খোদ মার্কিন ডাকবিভাগকেও ভাষা আন্দোলন চিনিয়েছে!!)।

২০০৮ হতে ২০১২তে এসে ওসমানীর স্ট্যাম্পের সংখ্যা ২৯ এ দাড়িয়েছে, আর এটাকে নানা জায়গায় বিশেষত প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীদের কাছে মার্কিন পোস্টাঅফিসের ডাকটিকিট বলে চালিয়ে দেয়া হচ্ছে। যতো পবিত্র ব্যাপারই হোক, সেইটা নিয়ে কেউ না কেউ ধান্ধা করবেই, তার প্রমাণ এইখানে দেখুন।
